Good place to go for a hike or camping. Connects to the Sakatah bike trail that connects Faribault and Mankato. Well worth the trip if you are physically capable of doing the trail.
Great place for shorter loop hikes for those who don’t want to hike on a paved bike path.
Beautiful lake! Fishing dock is near the picnic area, with tables and fire pits. The campsites were very clean and well preserved. There were two types of trails for walking and for biking. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!
Fairly rustic park. Some hiking trails, but real draw is easy access to Sakatah Singing Hills Trail. Can go to Mankato (24ish miles) or Fairbault (13 miles) on paved bike trail. Lots of shaded areas along the trail to stop and enjoy lunch or something else. Park also has boat landing and picnic area. Can rent canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards at the main park office.
Very nice, well maintained park. Large camp sites. Nice trails. Vehicle noise is high if you get a camp site along Highway 60. Take sites 33-62. Sites 9-11 have the most road noise.
